T-Teaching Dispositions (DM6): Teacher candidates will foster a caring and professional relationship with students that focus on acceptance and their educational needs. (TEAC Q.1.2, 1.3; INTASC 2-8).

Rational:  The Fall of 2010 I took a Reading and Writing Content class in which I learned various methods to incorporate reading and writing in the classroom. The following is one of the paper I wrote on a case study I was given for a final assessment. In this case study the student struggles with fluency, is below grade level in reading and is a typical class clown. This case study shows that I can formulate a plan to meet a student's educational needs and foster a caring relationship. I feel this class is one of many that has help prepared me to have a caring and professional relationship with students and meet their educational goals.

Rational: The Fall of 2009 for my EDUC 1010 class I wrote this paper on the importance of parents being involve in their child's education. Statistically when parents are involved,  a student is more likely to go on to college. I outline different ways to involve parents in their child's education. A teacher's approach can make the difference of a parent being involved. All parent have something to offer and generally just need an invitation to participate. I strongly believe in parental involvement. This essay expresses my belief that a student will be more successful in their academic career with parental involvement. Involving parents is part of my job of fostering a caring and professional relationship with the student.
